Biffa Award is currently accepting applications for funding for projects that will improve the quality of life and foster vibrancy in communities located within the vicinity of a Biffa operation.
Established in 1997 under the Landfill Communities Fund, the Biffa Award has supported a wide range of community and environmental projects across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Main Grants programme, which covers Recreation, Community Buildings and Rebuilding Diversity themes, offers grants of between £10,000 and £75,000 as long as the total project cost does not exceed £200,000 inclusive of VAT.
Not-for-profit organisations in England, Wales and Northern Ireland can apply for funding for:
- Community Buildings and Recreation (ENTRUST D and E) projects that are within 5 miles of a Biffa operation and 10 miles of any landfill sites or 10 miles of an active Biffa Landfill site.
- Rebuilding Biodiversity (ENTRUST DA) projects that are within 15 miles of a Biffa operation.
There is a two-step application process. The first step is to submit an expression of interest.
The first 2018 deadlines are 28 February for Community Buildings/Recreation applications and 15 July 2018 for Rebuilding Biodiversity.
Full details can be found on the Biffa Award website.
