The Try for Change large grants programme has been launched to support projects in England which use rugby union and the rugby union community to tackle a number of social challenges.
The fund will provide grants of up to £100,000 to charities, not-for-profit organisations and rugby clubs for work delivered over two to three years.
Proposals will need to demonstrate wider social outcomes and not just focus on increasing participation in rugby and they must address at least one of the following outcomes:
- Increase community cohesion/social integration.
- Improve educational attainment.
- Increase employability.
- Reduce involvement in gangs and reduce the risk of re-offending.
- Improve mental and physical health.
