On the 31st July, a new legislation about the Accessible Information Standard will come in to place. The Accessible Information Standard (SCCI1605) applies to all organisations that provide NHS or adult social care services including Non-NHS providers of NHS and adult social care services including organisations from the voluntary and independent sectors.
The standard requires all relevant bodies to meet the information and communication needs of patients, service users, carers and parents, where those needs relate to a disability, impairment or sensory loss.
This morning briefing session, organised by Voluntary Action Calderdale, will look at the standard in more detail and particularly focus on how voluntary and community sector organisations need to start implementing the standard if they haven’t already.
