This free CPD accredited training will equip you to deliver effective alcohol screening and brief interventions in your role, in addition to training others to deliver alcohol brief interventions in their roles.
For those who are working in a frontline role with patients, clients, service users or in a role that delivers training to other organisations.
They are looking for keen and enthusiastic individuals who will form part of an active network of our Calderdale ABI trainers, who will go on to roll out the ABI training to groups and organisations across Calderdale.
A requirement of attending this training is that you will be expected to deliver the alcohol brief interventions training as part of your role.
The ABI training course will cover:
- Facts about alcohol, myths, units and safe limits
- The physical effects of alcohol both short term and long term
- Definitions such as binge drinking, high risk and dependency
- Brief Interventions
- Support available and how to refer to local services
- Useful tools and resources to support training
The training will be delivered by Gwent Drug and Alcohol Service, who recently won a Health Service Journal Award for their training improving outcomes through learning and development.
Those that attend this training can also opt to attend the ABI refresher training on Thursday 27th April.
