Early Help, Early Identification – Regional Practical Seminar

December 10, 2014

Early Help is crucial as it provides integrated support to children, young people and their families. However, effective early help relies upon local agencies working together to identify children and families who would benefit from early help and provide targeted early help to address the needs of a child and their family.

Providing targeted early help is crucial to address the needs of a child and their family which focuses on activities to significantly improve outcomes for the child. The way forward is that the provision of early help and support should respond to the different levels of need of the individual children and family.

it is vital that there are clear criteria for taking action and providing help across this full continuum, having clear thresholds for action that all professionals follow to ensure that the right help is given to the child at the right time. Early help to prevent early intervention!

The content of the seminar will be:

  • A local authority best practice case study
  • What is the role of children’s centres in early help
  • Supporting SEN and disabilities through early help
  • Supporting parents through early help

These seminars are aimed at those working with all children and families to help provide early help and support to prevent families from going into crisis.
