New Approaches to Adult Learning in the Cultural Sector

November 17, 2015

Cost: £60 (or £40 student/volunteer/unwaged) inc. lunch and refreshments

Royal Armouries, in partnership with five learning organisations across Europe, is hosting a one-day conference on adult learning in the cultural sector as part of a transnational project funded by the Grundtvig programme.

The conference will explore four main themes:

  • How are cultural and adult learning organisations finding innovative ways to respond to the current financial climate?
  • How are cultural and adult learning organisations working in partnership to develop audiences and offer new opportunities to learners?
  • How can the cultural sector support diverse and disadvantaged adult audiences to access learning?
  • How can museums find new ways of engaging adult learners with their collections?

Conference delegates will have the opportunity to see a new exhibition, ‘Lest We Forget?’, created by a group of adult learners in partnership with the Royal Armouries Museum, and hear about the EU partnership’s work on using historical memory to engage adults in learning (www.kc-mem.eu).

Download the programme, including workshops and case studies.

To enquire or book, please contact bookings@armouries.org.uk or call 0113 220 1888.
