Grants and support are available from the Home Office Building a Stronger Britain Together fund for groups involved in counter-extremism projects in their communities.
“The counter-extremism strategy encourages partnership between the government and people involved in projects that counter extremism and build stronger communities.
“To help groups expand their reach and influence, the Building a Stronger Britain Together programme offers two forms of support through a competitive bidding process:
- in-kind support (such as social media training, technical assistance to help a group improve their website, or capacity building work to help a group protect more vulnerable individuals)
- grants: targeted funding for specific projects with demonstrable outcomes which provide a positive alternative to extremist voices
“You can apply for both in-kind support and grant funding if they are both needed.”
Registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, voluntary and community groups and not for profit community interest companies can apply for funding. Groups must have been established for at least 12 months.
Please read the guidance notes before completing the application form. The guidance notes aim to help you submit an eligible and competitive application for funding – worked examples of answers to questions are included.
The deadline for in-kind support applications is 9 December 2016 (5pm).
