The Department for Communities and Local Government is inviting local authorities and third sector organisations to apply for funding to help deliver much-needed new homes and infrastructure across England.
The new £25 million Planning Delivery Fund has been established to support ambitious authorities in areas of high housing need to plan for new homes and infrastructure, equipping them with the resources needed to deliver the agenda set out in the housing white paper of February 2017 and the Autumn Budget.
The initial allocation of £11 million will be open to bids, equally split over the financial years 2017-18 to 2018-19, and administered under three dedicated funding streams: a Joint Working Fund, a Design Quality Fund, and an Innovation Fund.
Third sector organisations (on their own or in partnership with Local Authorities) are invited to submit proposals to the Innovation Fund, which will provide funding to stimulate and support innovation in the way planning services are delivered. The amounts awarded will be made depending on the volume and quality of bids.
