Community Foundation for Calderdale have announced a new fund of £150,000. In developing the fund they arranged a consultation event, which was attended by representatives of Public, Private and Voluntary Sector organisations who work with or represent older people in the area. Attendees were asked to discuss a series of questions the answers to which would help frame the priorities and criteria of the Fund.
The results of this consultation have been the basis of the fund priorities which the Community Foundation have allocated £40,000 for community transport and access initiatives, £40,000 to develop existing and new befriending/good neighbour’s schemes, £20,000 towards network and partnership support. And a micro-commissioning fund of £50,000 for three area-based user led groups.
The Community Foundation is hopeful that they will attract a further £20,000 from a charitable donor which will be made available to the programme.
