Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund

Deadline: 31st July

Grants are available to local community groups, sports clubs and charities for projects that will increase opportunities for young people in disadvantaged areas of the UK to play outdoor sport.

Typically, grants will range from £2,500 to £5,000. Larger grants may be possible in some circumstances.

The Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund is a new fund formed by the merger of the charity formerly known as the Playing Fields Legacy Fund into UK charity, Access Sport. The Playing Fields Legacy Fund was established in 2012 by the late Angus Irvine, prompted by what he felt was a failure of the 2012 London Olympics to provide the promised legacy for grass-roots sport.

The Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund aims to increase opportunities for young people in disadvantaged areas of the UK to play outdoor sport. Grants are available to local community groups, sports clubs and charities for projects that will help to build the capacity of sports venues and clubs to reach more young people, such as the improvement of facilities, training of volunteers and the purchase of specialist equipment.
