Big Lottery are asking anyone who’s considering sending an application to them for more than £10,000 of funding to talk to them about their idea first.
They will ask you for a brief outline of your project idea, give you their advice and be honest with you about the likelihood of you getting funding for your idea as early as possible so that you do not waste time. This approach is based on what their customers have said; about having more conversations with them and less formal form filling.
They are particularly interested in hearing from projects which support:
- Communities to develop happier and stronger relationships with each other
- Lasting and sustainable changes to their places and spaces
- Taking early action to prevent problems and tackle disadvantage.
They also want to bring to life their vision of ‘People in the Lead’. This is about people taking the lead by using their local knowledge, strengths and assets to test and grow ideas that matter most to them. As well as share learning about what went well, and what didn’t.
