COVID-19 Extraordinary Home Office funding for vulnerable children’s charities

Extended deadline: 6th July

Further to the Chancellor’s announcement of £750m funding for the Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector, the Home Office has secured additional, emergency support funding for small/micro charities that are working with vulnerable young people at risk of being involved in serious violence.

West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit has been allocated an additional £285,168 to provide to small/micro charities (defined as those having an income less than £100,000 per annum). This emergency funding is contingent on it being provided to secure critical frontline services affected by COVID-19.

West Yorkshire organisations eligible for funding must be registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, or a social enterprise; this includes companies limited by guarantee and community interest companies.

They can include existing delivery partners and/or new organisations whom are experiencing; immediate financial hardship, significantly increased demand, or an urgent need to adapt services to meet COVID-19 associated measures (e.g. social distancing).

Only activity delivered between 01 April 2020 and 31 October 2020 (inclusive) may be claimed as Eligible Expenditure.

The funding is a one-off contribution of additional support and will require the Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) to issue a new Grant Agreement to cover this specific, ring-fenced funding

The process for funding requests
