Engagement Champions are representatives of local communities. They give local people the chance to influence the way health services are planned and delivered. In times of change, it’s really important that the health services we receive in the future are shaped by local people’s views.
Representatives of voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations working in Calderdale can become Engagement Champions.
Organisations with trained Engagement Champions can then become ‘approved providers’ to carry out engagement and consultation activities locally and carry out paid work. This could include undertaking surveys, holding focus groups and consultation events on health issues and services and feeding back views to the local Clinical Commissioning Group.
