The Safer Cleaner Greener teams are carrying out a ‘big tidy up’ in conjunction with the West Yorkshire Fire Service, starting on 2nd November as they are wanting to try and get on top of any dumpings/litter which can potentially be a fire risk for plot night of the 5th.
They will be on call removing any flytipping/dumping throughout the week and they have also targeted some areas which are in a real need of a clean.
Lower Valley – Monday 2nd November
Rastrick – Targeting the area around Gooder Lane down to Bramston Street and into the Oaklands Estate. Meeting at 09:00 at the Globe Public House, Rastrick Common.
Halifax North & East and Halifax Central – Monday 2nd November
Ovenden – Meeting with the Halifax Central Team at North Bridge Leisure Centre at 09:00. Targeting Old Lane from North Bridge through to Keighley Road. This area has been the target for substantial amounts of flytipping and we have worked with private land owners to take responsibility for cleaning up their sites and now we are targeting this area for a Big Tidy Up to get our message across.
