In February 2014, Open Forum Events held their first Dementia: Quality of Care conference. Attracting over 150 delegates from across health, social care, and the wider public, private and third sectors, as well as people living with dementia, their carers and families, this innovative and inspirational event focused on key stages in the dementia pathway using best practice case studies and personal stories to shine a light on the way forward for dementia care and support. Proper integration across services, truly personalised care, real engagement and empathy were major themes of the day.
Designed to appeal to all areas, including hospitals, care homes, local authorities, carers and families, Dementia: Quality of Care 2015 will focus on best practice in compassionate dementia care and support. The programme will cover diagnosis through to end of life care, including hospitals, community settings and care homes.
Open Forum Events’ Dementia: Quality of Care 2015 conference offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from people living with dementia and their families about their experiences of the health and social care system.
