This will be the first meeting of the Rastrick Neighbourhood Forum, 7pm at Rastrick High School Technology Centre.
The meeting is open to anyone and everyone who lives or works in Rastrick (as defined by the post code HD6 3 area) and the organisers hope as many people as possible will take the opportunity to come along and find out more at this early stage.
The key aim of the group will be to put together a Neighbourhood Plan, which will carry statutory status within Calderdale’s Local Plan once created and approved.
Nick Midgley, a Rastrick resident and architect with a keen interest in planning, is one of a core group who are instigating this step for the area. “We believe that forming a Rastrick Neighbourhood Forum and creating a Neighbourhood Plan gives our community the best opportunity to improve and influence any future development.” said Nick. “We hope people will come along to the meeting to hear more, so they can decide whether they’d like to be involved, and to what extent.”
The project is also being supported by Ward Councillors, lead by Rastrick’s Christine Beal. “The idea of bringing forward a Neighbourhood Plan has already received a really encouraging amount of interest”, said Christine, “so we’re hopeful of being able to officially form the Forum on Monday and begin the process of getting our Rastrick Plan together. Ultimately, the Plan will be agreed by referendum of all Rastrick residents so we’re looking to get as many people involved as possible along the way to feed in their thoughts and ideas”. Any enquiries relating to the meeting, or the Neighbourhood Forum in general can be directed to Christine on 01484 719250 or email@example.com.
