As you may be aware, the NHS England commissioned All-age Liaison and Diversion services are being mobilised in Calderdale and Kirklees from April 2019. The service aims to divert vulnerable people out of the criminal justice system and into appropriate services to meet their needs. These needs may be related to mental health, substance misuse, learning disabilities, housing, benefits, emotional wellbeing and historical abuse.
Liaison and Diversion do not deliver interventions as a service so working closely with partners is pivotal for the service to be a success and for service users to be supported to make changes. Existing West Yorkshire L&D services have established excellent working relationships with partners and endeavour to do the same in Calderdale and Kirklees.
This event will give the opportunity to meet managers and practitioners from L&D services to find out how the service will be delivered in Calderdale and Kirklees and ask any questions you may have. It will also give the L&D team the opportunity to meet the people they will be working closely with.
There will be 2 events:
Wednesday 13th February 9.30-12.30 at The Orange Box, 1 Blackledge, Halifax, HX1 1AF
Tuesday 19th February 9.30-12.30 at The Yorkshire Children’s Centre, Brian Jackson House, New North Parade, Huddersfield, HD1 5JP
There will be a short presentation delivered at 10am and 11am at both events to provide an overview of L&D services. The marketplace will be informal to allow for partners to drop in for as long as is convenient. The same presentation will be delivered at both time slots.
