Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) are committed to helping raise awareness of local charities and community groups with the aim of building a better understanding for the employees there on what opportunities there are locally to provide support.
In order to achieve this, there will be 2 events at Lloyds Banking Group, one at Trinity Road – 26th April 2018 and another at Copley Data Centre – 25th April 2018 and LBG would like to extend an invite to local charities or community groups who would like to raise awareness through attending these events.
The aim of these events is twofold, 1. to raise awareness and 2. to build a strong volunteer network for local groups. LBG has a real sense of community and is continuously looking for ways to support local groups through volunteering and raising awareness.
All employees are allocated 1 day per year to volunteer in the local community, this can be used in many ways, e.g. skills based volunteering, physical activities etc. and doesn’t have to be used within just one day (i.e. it can be broken down depending on the hours required and the volunteering activity). In addition to this many colleagues choose to volunteer in their own time.
My vision is for a number of local groups to have a table each in their restaurant area where they can set up with leaflets and information that can be shared with colleagues. Colleagues would visit the different groups to build their understanding of the local community groups and identify what opportunities there are for them to volunteer/provide support. The hope is that some great relationships can be built that will progress into the future and build on the bank’s, already strong, sense of community.
