Scope Focus Group – Understanding the experiences of disabled employees

June 25

Scope often hear from disabled people who want to know how to tell if an employer is inclusive. Employers also ask how to measure their progress in becoming more inclusive of disabled employees.

So, they are carrying out research to understand what information employers should be collecting to understand the experiences of their disabled employees.

They want to develop a set of measures employers can use for this purpose, sharing their progress publicly. This would give disabled candidates more accurate information about the working practices of different employers before they apply for jobs.

Scope will be asking you questions such as:

  • What would you like to know about an employer?
  • What information would you be comfortable with your employer capturing about you?
  • How should they gather this information?

They would like to hear from:

  • People aged 16-64 who consider themselves to be disabled
  • Who have experience in work

You can share your views through a workshop with Scope in Leeds on 25 June.

Scope can cover local travel expenses and they will offer participants a £20 gift voucher as a thank you for your time.

If you would like to take part then please contact Robert.gill@scope.org.uk or call 02076197389. If you have any access or communication requirements, please let them know.

Alternatively, if you would like to share your views on how your employer measures your experience of working for that organisation as a disabled person but can’t make any of the above dates for the workshops then please do get in touch using the above email address.
