Going for Growth – Developing new products and services
This year’s annual conference is a little different. Every presentation is focussed on how a social enterprise developed, financed, marketed and sold new products or services and how that experience not only helped develop their business but their social aims. There will be keynote presentations and showcases as well as tours of Goodwin Community Housing new low carbon community homes created and developed by Goodwin Development Trust.
Secured Keynote speakers are:
– Architect Mark Hodson, Chair of Yorkshire and the Humber RIBA who will talk about opportunities in housing for social enterprises
– Philip Bartey, Chief Executive of Autism Plus who have developed a chocolate factory and are in the process of creating a bakery, traditional letterpress printing and a unique vintage car hire business, Philip will explain how they did it and how it supports Autism Plus’s core charitable aims
– Tony Gledhill, Social Entrepreneur of the Year and Company Secretary of Enabled Works who rose from the ashes of Remploy in Leeds and Pontefract Remploy factories setting up a workers co-operative providing Electro / Mechanical Assembly, Fulfilment and contract packing
– Pete Mcgurn, Chief Executive of Goodwin Development Trust who have developed environmental and housing products which will be showcased at the conference
