If you are involved in an organisation or a group which provides a service or activity in North Halifax please come along to the Staying Well Launch on Thursday 15 January 2015!
They need to recruit local people and organisations to form a Steering Group that will oversee this new and exciting pilot project in North Halifax, and will be able to commission new services and activities from a local funding pot starting at £50,000 – this could mean money for your group!
The Staying Well Ageing Better project seeks to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for older people in the community who are lonely or isolated. The project recognises that that the people living and working in our local communities are the best placed to know what is already available, where any gaps are, and are the most qualified to say where we should be focusing services in the future.
They are also looking to the future and hoping to build an alliance in North Halifax of voluntary, community and public sector partners to be able to deliver more localised and community led services and be in a stronger position able to apply for further funding, including Better Care.
