The final Leeds City Region Sustainable Urban Development (SUD) Strategy was submitted to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) in February 2016.
The Strategy is included as an annexe to the refresh of the Leeds City Region ESIF Strategy which can be downloaded here.
The Strategy covers the City Region’s urban core of West Yorkshire and York with a focus on developing ecologically sound and resilient site development aligned to the Local Enterprise Partnership’s key strategic economic growth sites.
A European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) SUD Call, covering elements of Priority Axis 3 (specifically Site Development), Priority Axis 5 (Economic development through flood risk management) and Priority Axis 6 (Green Infrastructure) is expected to be published in late summer, subject to legal agreements relating to the West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s status as an Intermediate Body (IB) being in place. Alongside the SUD Call, additional ERDF Calls under Priority Axis 5 and Priority Axis 6 (and, potentially Priority Axis 3) will be published.
A further Sounding Group is now being held to enable key stakeholders to discuss the next steps necessary in shaping the detail of these forthcoming Calls.
