This conference provides the unique opportunity to engage directly with both the PCC Mark Burns Williamson, and for the first time at this event, Dee Collins the Chief Constable. The theme is ‘Working with the Police’.
The conference will hear about the PCC’s and the Chief Constable’s vision for policing in West Yorkshire, and discuss how the sector can contribute to a truly inclusive approach. By working together on the ground, we can get better outcomes for victims, offenders and communities. Working in groups, the conference will discuss realistic scenarios developed specially for the conference that the Police have to deal with in their day to day work, and how better working relationships with the sector could help both to prevent them but also how they are dealt with once they happen. The scenarios cover domestic abuse, hate crime, mental health, re-offending and human trafficking. Through them the conference will get a better understanding of the benefits of working together and how it can be made real.
The event is open to third sector organisations working in West Yorkshire and others for examples members of community safety partnerships with an interest in the role of the sector in delivering community safety outcomes.
