Upcoming Calderdale Women’s Inter-faith Group events

Thursday 24th January, 10.30 – 12 noon, at King Cross Fire Station Community Room, this is on the topic of Angels. Gillian Greenwood will be talking about what angels mean to her. There will also be a chance for a discussion and to talk about how angels are viewed in various faiths.

Thursday 14th February, 10.30-12 noon, at King Cross Fire Station Community Room, Linda Oswin will be giving us an update on the situation of Asylum Seekers in Calderdale. Linda has a great deal of experience of working with asylum seekers – she will be able to enlighten us from her own experience. Come and find out the real situation. There will probably be some myth-busting! We can’t believe everything we read in the papers!

Thursday 14th March, 10.30-12 noon, venue to be confirmed – Rev Madeleine Russell will introduce us to Taize, a Christian community in Taize in France. It was founded in 1940. The community has become one of the world’s most important sites of Christian pilgrimage, with a focus on youth. Over 100,000 young people from around the world make pilgrimages to Taizé each year. It has developed widely recognised songs and chants.
