These workshops are for the ongoing Rural Development Programme for England Network (RDPE) Growth Programme in the Leeds City Region (LCR) and will provide information to organisations across the LCR on the current round of grants available for investments in Tourism infrastructure using European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) part of the LCR European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) programme. Over £2m of grants are still available.
The funding, part of the RDPE Growth Programme, will be available to businesses, such as farms and farm shops, landowners, and charities, to invest in infrastructure that will boost local tourism. Grants from £35,000 are available where investment in capital assets will increase the number of visitors, increase the length of stay and/or increase the amount of money spent in the City Region. Priority will be given where businesses can demonstrate that grant funding will extend the tourism season between October and March, create quality accommodation, footpaths or cycle ways, and start or expand events and festivals with legacy potential.
The workshops will also cover the new opportunities in Leeds City Region from the 2 grants for investment in Business Development and Food Processing that will shortly be available. Additional details on these 2 grants will be provided at the workshops.
These events will provide more detailed information to organisations across the City Region about:
- What is eligible and non-eligible activity
- How to apply
- An overview of the application process
