The programme is being held on Microsoft Teams, with job vacancies available in Leeds
It’s an intensive virtual course, the first 3 days are training based featuring talks from employers & industry experts. Over the duration of the course, the following topics will be covered: developing an understanding of working in the sector covering topics such as safeguarding, communication, values & skills required to work in the sector.
There is also employability support including a CV workshop, interview practice & coaching.
No previous health & social care experience is required, as upon a successful outcome, full training is provided by the employers.
The last day is an opportunity to have a guaranteed interview with one of their employer partners for live vacancies in the Leeds City region.
There are job outcomes available on this course.
After the programme, whether the young person has been successful or not, there is the opportunity to be matched with a mentor to provide continued support.
- Aged between 16-30
- Work ready young people- this is essential. No experience of the Health & social care sector is required, but the young people must be in the position to work or have some work/volunteering/placement experience.
- Willingness to travel to their employment – jobs will be available in and around the Leeds city region
- Willingness to work in care based roles – all roles available are hands on, entry level social care roles.
